Standard Broadcast

STANDARD BROADCAST is a Pittsburgh, PA based Indie Rock four-piece. Nathan Jay (piano and vocals), Leland Shaw (cello), Holly Fromlak (guitar) and Jeff Skalyo(drums). Formed in 2014, Nathan and Leland set out to create a more dynamic, catchy feel, without the traditional guitar/bass ensemble. After six months of songwriting, the guys went on to add Holly's poppy, almost hip-hop driven beats. Add to that Nathan's rhythmic piano skills and rock-inspired vocals, along with Leland's classically trained cello experience, and their music developed into an indie flare. Looking to expand their sound, they brought on Jeff as the new drummer in the summer of 2015 and Holly transitioned over to lead guitar, her preferred instrument. Check them out live around the Pittsburgh area! View Profile.

Starship Mantis

Starship Mantis began in late 2016 when Beni Rossman, one of Pittsburgh’s go-to bassists, called together standout individuals from a number of projects he had participated in over the years. Rossman’s ultimate goal was to combine the musical and cultural roots of Jazz, Funk, Hip-hop, and EDM into an intellectually and physically stimulating experience. Just a few months from its inception, Starship Mantis was performing to packed rooms and has shared the stage with the likes of Cory Henry and the Funk Apostles. With the next couple of months already including appearances with Big Mean Sound Machine and Marbin, Starship Mantis is organizing a summer 2017 tour. Summer dates currently include Farmjammalamma 10 and Johnstown’s annual Ethnic Festival. View Profile.

Sweaty Already String Band

Originally conceived as a reference to Pat's default state-of-being between April and September — as in, "We haven't even started the show yet and Pat's sweaty already!" — The Sweaty Already String Band hits the stage with a blend of original, traditional and modern bluegrass, along with some unexpected covers. All of us receive some of our musical training from Duquesne University — although for some of us, it was extreeemely informal, haha! — and we love nothing better than a lively evening of prime pickin'! The 412 District

The District was formed in 2013 from their common love of music and occupation (Education). Kevin Monaghan (Lead Singer and Rhythm Guitar) started the band concept through a fundraiser where he put together a band to play positive and encouraging themed songs. Rob Furman (Drummer) joined him on his first project. Jon Weisbroad (Bass) and Sean Van Eman (Lead Guitar) were soon added, and The 412 District began rocking venues throughout Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas. We have been described as both the areas best jukebox , playing all the favorite cover tunes of our 412 area code, to Pittsburgh's next rock sound. We are the "Heinz 57" of the Pittsburgh music scene because we bring that diverse, but unique Pittsburgh Style in every performance. We have recently ventured into the world of original music. Our first two songs have already made a splash in the Pittsburgh region. The 412 District rocks everyone’s radio favorites from the 60's through the 90's, as well as classic rock and country inspired crossover originals. View Profile.
