Bonnie & the Mere Mortals

Made up of four Pittsburgh musicians from vastly different backgrounds, Mere Mortals is the product of songwriter Bonnie Ramone’s attempt to rationalize the dichotomy of the farm in a backwoods coal town she grew up on with the Goth scene  she used to “make it out” and into the city. Blending Appalachian folk with a mixture of New Wave, industrial, and shoegaze, Mere Mortals is self-described as “Southern Gothic.”  The band is made up of guitarist and banjo player Bonnie, guitarist and synth player Destin LeCornu, upright bassist Mike Simms, and synth and beat maker Sam Phillips; all of them lending their own vocal stylings. Each musician adds their own unique flair to the juxtaposition of analog and digital that sounds fresh, yet catchy and eeriely familiar.  After returning to songwriters like Gillian Welch, Bonnie realised Depeche Mode and Nick Cave might have more in common with Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash than one might think; Heartbreak, drugs, murder ballads, depression, love, the color black... the stories stay the same. This is an exploration of those stories and a homecoming.     View Profile.

Buffalo Rose

Buffalo Rose is a modern folk band from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with a penchant for harmony and an intense love of the natural world. The band's lineup has snowballed from its inception in the spring of 2016 to include three vocalists (Mariko Reid, Lucy Clabby, and Shane McLaughlin) and four string instruments: guitar (Shane McLaughlin), dobro (Malcolm Inglis), bass (Jason Rafalak) and mandolin (Bryce Rabideau). These unique musical ingredients come together in a mesmerizing harmonic puzzle that is at times haunting, other times foot-tapping, and always a good time. After just six months together Buffalo Rose put out their debut EP, Red Wagon, in November 2016. After an energetic response to this bite-sized record, the group continued to use their momentum to begin work on their first full-length album 'The Soil and the Seed,' available as of March 2018, while sharing the stage with a variety of national acts including The Infamous Stringdusters, The Dustbowl Revival, Yarn, Kuinka, and Dangermuffin. Now you can find them on tour around the Eastern US as well as occasionally in Pittsburgh to support their recent release. View Profile.

Charm & Chain

Charm & Chain is a four piece original groove- rock band based out of Pittsburgh, PA. Beginning in late 2012 as singer/songwriter Laurie Kudis's (keys/vocals) solo project with the release of 'Heliacal Rise', a full band rapidly assembled and began writing and performing locally. Eric Koester (bass/vocals) and Ben Sukenik (drums/vocals) were integral in defining the sound and in writing new material for the release of 'I Know What You Are' (2014) and along with Laurie, form the current line-up. Eric DiFiore (guitar/vocals) joined the group in 2015 and the chemistry between the four was instant.
